Work While It’s Day is a known as a place where the misfit fit. We are a place that welcomes people from every race, and nationality to serve God.
You'll discover that our passion is to provide a place where people just like you can have a life-changing experience with God.
Work While It’s Day Ministries Church doors are wide open to people from all backgrounds, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey. We are a life-giving, multicultural church and our goal is to infuse life and God's love into people and families through engaging, powerful worship services that offer biblical truth in relevant and practical ways.
Together, we're striving to become the kind of church described in the Bible, where there's relevant teaching, heart-felt worship, honest friendships, constant prayer, and compassionate care for those in need. In short, we'd like to have the kind of contagious Christianity that can influence and encourage the entire community, one life at a time.
It is our goal to push you towards God, and to help you grow to your full potential. This church is has been established to change one life at a time, and to continue the work established by our Lord Jesus Christ. (John 14:12)
Who’s Who
At this time I would like to Introduce you the the first family and our ministry team at Work While It’s Day. We currently have one deacon, and two others that are in training. ( Introduce each Minister and Piller)
History:
Work While Its Day was founded by Rev Lelton Davis who was giving this vision for this ministry while still serving under the leadership of Pastor C.R. MC Duffy at Saint John Institutional Baptist Church. Rev Lelton Davis started with having Bible study at his house with a few of his family, and friends until an opportunity to have a service at Walk By Faith Church presented itself. Pastor Cleveland
Mitchell gave Rev Lelton Davis an opportunity to use his facilities and blessed Rev Davis with a chance to birth the ministry that God had showed him. Walk by Faith open up their doors to Rev Davis and his wife and on January 12, 2014 when they had their very first service in which over a hundred people
attended. Rev Lelton Davis preached from Luke 5 Verses one through seven titled don’t go away empty. After Pastor Davis preached the word he opened up the doors of the church to invite people to Christ, and for membership to the church vision God gave him. The first members to join was Tasha Dossie, Deeanna Davis, Jovon Hollins, and David Johnson. Pastor Davis gave the benediction and close out thanking all who had attended. After service was over Pastor Darryl Henry, and Pastor Mother Janice Jackson were a few witnesses to how God was still working in the building. While some left others were still praising and witnessing about the power of God. Mother Jackson informed Pastor Davis that there were a few more members who wanted to join the ministry. Pastor Davis opened back the doors of the church ,and Andrew Anderson, Kenya Anderson, Michael Jackson, Antoine Anderson, Devonaire Stevenson, the children of the andersons joined. With God’s vision the work of this Ministry begin with 15 members who joined that day. Pastor Davis and First Lady continued to have weekly services at Walk by faith for a year and a half. Work While It’s Day begin to work on the vision with programs designed to do the work of the Kingdom while seeking to do God’s will. While Working on God vision we continue to grow and added new members. In May 2015 we moved into our own building on 47th ave and Thomas. There we ordained our first Deacon Otha Anderson and were blessed to serve in that community for a year and a half. In January of 2017 we relocated our services to Bible Baptist Church were we continue to work on the scripture John 9:4. Work While It’s Day has continues to strive to be obedient to the Lord as it continues to serve the community, preach the gospel, and edify the Kingdom of God. With God’s help our Church has been blessed three years to serve, save, edify, and reach the unreachable. Our church motto is we are the place where misfits fit. We know there will be many challenges but we have faith that God will be with us. We thank God for all our members both past and present who have helped to make us stronger. We thank those who have donated items and who have sown good seeds into our lives. We will continue to work while it’s day and pray that God gives us the strength for the journey.
Mission:
Our Mission is to reach lost souls for the Kingdom of God while impacting our communities. We offer the Love of God, and work towards being Holy as our Father is Holy. We strive daily towards sanctification and seek God’s will on how to navigate through this world by using his word. We are bible led believers who intends to continue to change the world by using our spiritual gifts, talents, abilities, resources, power, and authority.
Values
We value and treasure all the people of God that walk through our doors. We dedicate our lives to building up our children and young adults to train them in the way of God. We value prayer, worship, fasting, giving, tides, offering, love, privacy, baptism, communion, and the word of God.
Vison:
Our vision is to reach the nations with the gospel of peace through many different forms, and methods to wins souls for the Kingdom of God. We will use every gift, talent, and ability for the purpose of changing the world. We will establish relationships and conquer every obstacle to obtain victory in Jesus name.
Purpose:
The purpose of this local church is the salvation of the lost souls, the edification of the Christians through the teaching of God's Word, and completing the will of God. The church will train its members to go out into the world as witnesses to do the work of the ministry according to the great Commission in Matthew 28:19. It is our duty and purpose to encourage members to do the work of the ministry, the worldwide proclamation of God's saving grace through the shed blood and finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ on Calvary, the promotion of godly worship, the defense of the faith once delivered unto the saints (Jude 3), and cooperation with Christian activities functioning in harmony with God's Holy Word, until Jesus comes for His church.
Statement of Faith:
Our Beliefs
We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired, inerrant and the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe there is but one God, eternally existent and manifested in the triune Godhead, three persons co-equal in power and purpose: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God in His deity, His virgin birth, in His perfect and sinless life, in His death, His shed blood which atones for the sin of the world, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father in Heaven, and in His personal return in power and glory to rapture a perfect and mature church.
We believe in the salvation and sanctification of unbelievers through the renewal and regeneration of the Holy Spirit in the heart.
We believe in the resurrection of the dead to either eternal life with Jesus Christ for the saved, eternal damnation in hell for the unbelieving lost.
We believe in the local church as the assembly of the righteous to the preaching of the gospel and to world evangelization.
We believe in the present day ministry gifts: the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher, and their active and essential roles in the perfecting and preparing the body of Christ, edifying and establishing the church for the work of the ministry.
We believe in the spiritual body of Christ everywhere and its blessed unity in the bond of peace. The HOLY BIBLE is the inspired word of God and is the basis for any statement of faith.
